Use an 8 ft strap held to the anchor with a split bolt to clamp onto an I-beam of the frame. Most folks use an augur machine to help put these in place, though you can do it manually by using a post hole digger to get you started, then find a long bar (such as rebar) to use as leverage to twist the anchor into the ground. How to secure a mobile home anchor with strap and frame clamp
Start a pilot hole a few inches deep. Then either use an augur machine or manual twisting to drill the anchor into the ground. To do it manually, use a length of rebar or pipe to give you the leverage to twist the anchor into the ground. Wrap the 8 foot strap once around the frame, with the clamp secured on the edge of a beam. Insert loose end through the split bolt, then turn bolt until strap is tight.
- Drill anchor into ground
- Insert split bolt
- Insert the strap. Secure strap to I-beam at the frame clamp. Insert loose end through split bolt.
- Tighten strap by turning bolt.
- Clip of any excess metal of strap. Your anchor now secures your mobile home in place.
